Chrysogonus #62 – dark clouds

dark clouds
after Robert Verdon

dark clouds
are my saviourthey free me
from the comfort

of shorts in the heat
all that wild hair on the legs

handles of love on my belly
tucked in neatly now

that big pile of fat
known as my body

curling on the couch
buried under a stack

of blankets, all grey
six layers under

so it’s safe
you can frown down there

tears can roll
as required

without judgement
or any answer demanded

those dark sheep
won’t be brought to the fold

one can always
blame the weather
